Meet Jon!

Jonathan graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2011, where he met his wife and fellow physiotherapist Carly. He is originally from Windsor Ontario, but moved to Prince George when he was in high school and is happy to call it home now.

Jon started his career at UHNBC working in many different areas including; cardiorespiratory, neurological, and musculoskeletal. He has taken many sports related courses over the years, giving him exceptional sports taping and assessment skills. His other passion is working with concussions. He has completed several courses in Shift Concussion Management. Jon and his wife enjoy treating concussion and brain injured patients together as the vestibular system (Carly’s specialty) is very closely linked to the brain and is usually affected after a concussion or brain trauma.

More about Jon

When did you decide you wanted to become a physiotherapist?

I have always been really active and love snowboarding, biking, surfing, hiking, playing hockey, and used to compete in Kung Fu. I ruptured my ACL, PCL, and meniscus playing competitive hockey as a teen and had to go through two separate surgeries. After that, the importance of my health and ability to use my body to do the things I love was top priority. Physiotherapy gives me the opportunity to maintain my health and fitness and help others maintain theirs.

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends?

Well before having kids, you could find me at Pidhurny in the summers and Powder King in the winters. If I wasn’t there, me and Carly would be summiting another mountain top near Prince George or camping. Filming has been a huge passion for me since I was in high school and that has been a big part of my weekends for years. I love biking with my kids while they sing and point out birds to me or ski at Otway.
