Meet Salina!

Salina graduated from the 2-year registered massage therapy program in July of 2021 from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy with performance awards in her practical components and has been a registered massage therapist since December of 2021. After practicing in the Okanagan, Salina decided to move back to Prince George, where her family resides, to spend quality time with the ones she loves and bring another health care practitioner into the community.

Salina believes that health should be looked at to be treated as a whole using assessment, varied modalities in treatment, assigning home care routines, and referring out within different scopes of practice (chiropractors, acupuncture, physiotherapy ect.).

More about Salina

When did you decide you wanted to become a massage therapist?

My parents have always worked in jobs that were hard on their bodies and then would come home to the hobby farm where there were so many chores to be done that they would be physically exhausted and burnt out. I saw what it did to their quality of life and after even just a casual short neck and shoulder massage how much better they would feel. I’ve always wanted to go into the health field and I felt like this career path just appeared to me through seeing the true benefit of massage. After that I went to an info session for the registered massage therapy school in the Okanagan and the rest is history!

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends?

Camping!! I love to get out and go kayaking and spend time outdoors in the summer and in winter I LOVE snowshoeing. I’m also a big fan of getting out into the bush with the quads or side by side! On rainy or really cold weekends its my favorite thing to stay inside in comfy clothes with a friend or family member and have a movie day with your favorite foods!
